The Iowa Cubs will change their name to the Caucuses for an Aug. 30 game against the Memphis Redbirds.

The Iowa caucuses are coming sooner than you think.

Sure, presidential candidates will be jockeying for position in time for the Feb. 3, 2020 decision. However, on Aug. 30 the Iowa Cubs minor league baseball team will change its name to the Iowa Caucuses for one game, the Des Moines Register reported.

The team caps will be red, white and blue and will feature an Iowa Caucuses logo -- a character shaped like the state of Iowa with "Uncle Sam" pants and a patriotic-looking cap, the team said on its website.

The pinstripes the Cubs normally sport on their uniforms will remain but will include stars and stripes, the team said.

During the game, the team will offer voter registration opportunities at Principal Park in Des Moines, the Register reported.
