3 dead after shooting at Michigan courthouse

A sheriff says two bailiffs and a gunman are dead at a western Michigan courthouse where a shooting happened.

The Berrien County Sherriff confirmed that two bailiffs and a suspect are dead. According to WSBT, another bailiff was shot in the arm and finger.

The injured deputy is in stable condition at Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph.

The suspect was an inmate and was being moved at the western Michigan courthouse when he disarmed officer, shot, killed 2 bailiffs.

The shooting happened at the Berrien County courthouse on Monday afternoon. A Berrien County Commissioner, who was not identified by name, told WBND that a man grabbed a deputy's gun and opened fire as the man was on his way to jail.

Berrien County Sheriff Paul Bailey said the situation was under control by 3 p.m.
