2 dead, over a dozen shot at Fort Myers nightclub

Two people are reportedly dead after as many as 17 people were reportedly shot at a Fort Myers, Fla., nightclub early Monday morning, according to CBS.

The shooting happened in the parking lot of Club Blu, which was hosting a teen party, according to CBS.

The victims have not been identified, but the local hospital treating victims released a statement saying victims treated at Lee Memorial Hospital ranged in age from 12 to 27.

Of those victims, one died, four were admitted, one is in critical condition and others were treated and released, according to CBS. Another victim was treated and released at Cape Coral Hospital.

In a post on its Facebook page, Club Blu said “we tried to give the teens what we thought was a safe place to have a good time.” The post also says the shooting happened as the club was closing and parents were picking up their children and that there was armed security inside and outside of the club.
