An electrocuted slug is to blame for stopping 30 trains and impacting about 12,000 passengers last month, officials said.
Japan Railways officials found the slug's remains in equipment near tracks at a station on the island of Kyushu, the BBC reported.
The slug slithered through a small gap and got into a load disconnector, the BBC reported.
