A South Carolina man dying of cancer had a final wish. He wanted to be baptized.

Jenis Grindstaff said he had always had a connection with Jesus but never was baptized, WYFF reported.

But the Navy veteran and air traffic controller was granted his request with some help with the staff of Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System.

Chaplain Terrell Jones performed the baptism by immersion with staff from the Spartanburg Regional Hospice helping in the rite.

They used a 60-gallon tub at the hospice home to help Grindstaff receive his blessing, hospice officials said.

After the immersion, they washed his hair, put oil on his skin and even gave him a quick foot massage, before being transported home, officials said.
