"Bret Baier was supposed to be here tomorrow night," Colbert said during the show. "We just found out that he and his family were in a car accident in Montana, and bad, like, jaws of life to get him out of there. They're all in the hospital, but they're gonna be OK. We just want to say: We hope you're doing better."

Colbert then relayed a message from Baier.
"They're gonna be OK," Colbert said. "Thank you for your thoughts and prayers for him and his family, and please, wear your seat belt. It makes a difference."
According to KTVQ in Billings, Baier recently shared a photo of him and his family at a Madison County ski resort.

Baier also took to Twitter on Monday evening to stress the importance of family, telling his followers to treat every day as a blessing.
"It's always good to remind yourself of that – before something does it for you," he tweeted.
Don’t take anything for granted - every day is a blessing - and family is everything. It’s always good to remind yourself of that - before something does it for you. #countyourblessings
