Kardashian, known for being a TV personality, businesswoman and socialite, has been funding the 90 Days of Freedom" campaign, TMZ reported. Spearheaded by lawyers Brittany K. Kardashian is quietly paying the fees while Barnett and Cody do the lawyering, according to TMZ.
This isn't Kardashian's first foray into criminal justice activism. She previously brought attention to the cases of Cyntoia Brown in Tennessee and Alice Marie Johnson in Alabama, among others. She was outspoken in her support of the First Step Act, a prison reform measure that President Donald Trump signed into law in December 2018.
Among the inmates who Kardashian has helped free is Terrence Byrd, who served 25 years of a life without parole sentence for a drug possession charge, TMZ reported.
This is what freedom looks like! Won immediate release for Terrence yesterday! He was arrested at 25 and sentenced to life - he turns 50 in August and is FREE to celebrate LIFE AFTER LIFE. Pure joy being able to give these life sentences back! 🖤@BuriedAliveProj @DecarcerateNow pic.twitter.com/AXntRKoTpM

Last month, we had the unbelievable privilege of telling Eric that he would not be spending his life in prison. With @DecarcerateNow, we solidified immediate release for him––and now he's FREE, reunited w his family.#womenwarriors #womenlawyers #90daysoffreedom #firststepact pic.twitter.com/ZwJhHFdDDx
