KISS offers free food to TSA workers during ongoing government shutdown

They may rock and roll all night, but Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley are making sure those federal workers who are reporting to their jobs despite not being paid during the ongoing government shutdown will be able to eat.

KISS made the announcement last week that the band's Rock and Brews restaurants located at airports across the country, will provide a free meal a day to TSA workers during the shutdown.

Stanley and Simmons posted the video on the restaurant's Facebook page, saying that they can get a free meal at any stand-alone location, by showing their TSA badge.

KISS isn’t the only big name helping some of the 800,000 federal workers who are either working without pay or are furloughed during the ongoing government shutdown.

Jon Bon Jovi announced Saturday that his JBJ Soul Kitchen in New Jersey would feed furloughed federal employees Monday afternoon.

Celebrity Chef José Andrés is also serving free hot meals every day to federal workers in a cafe that is set up on Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, D.C. between both sides of the shutdown standoff -- the White House and the Capitol Building, CNN reported.

“This has a double meaning. We will have food for you to eat or food for you to take home, but I also hope this will be a call to action to our senators and congressmen and specially President Trump, to make sure that we end this moment in the history of America where families are about to go hungry,” Andrés told CNN.

Saturday, President Donald Trump announced a plan that could reopen government a deal for the $5.7 billion he has requested to build a border wall between the U.S. and Mexico, as well as a 3 year protection from deportation for those who would fall under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, as well as adding additional nations to qualify for Temporary Protected Status, CNN reported.

Democratic congressional leaders rejected Trump’s proposal.
