Kyle Chalmers' grandparents reaction to his win is pure gold

Malcolm and Julie Bagnell could not hide their emotions when their grandson Kyle Chalmers won gold in the 100-meter freestyle final Thursday at the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

Malcolm jumped from his chair and kissed Julie, who was overwhelmed with tears of joy. Footage of their heartwarming reaction was shared on YouTube.

"Normally I'm a little settled, wherever I've been, following him I've always taken footage of him," Malcolm told The Project. "But today I got away from it, I was absolutely over (the) moon and I went for it. Yes, what a tremendous win."

Chalmers, 18, came out of nowhere to complete the race in 47.58 seconds, according to London's Daily Mail. Cameron McEvoy, Chalmers' teammate and the favorite to win, came in seventh.
