Cobos-Cenobio got back into the car, drove away and stopped again to let a woman out of his car before driving off a third time, KFSM reported.
Police put out an alert for Cobos-Cenobio, who was eventually tracked down. He took off again with local and state police pursuing him.
He stopped again, and opened fire on police, then fled one final time, Arkansas Democrat Gazette reported.
Eventually, Cobos-Cenobio stopped and surrendered, KFSM reported.
It was found that he had a gunshot wound to the shoulder. Police conducted a search of the car he was driving, where they said they found marijuana and two pipes.
No police officers were injured in the shootout, according to Arkansas Democrat Gazette.
He now faces four charges of attempted capital murder, as well as individual charges of fleeing, terroristic act, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, Arkansas Democrat Gazette reported.
Two officers are on administrative leave pending an investigation into the shootout, KFSM reported. The leave is standard after a shooting incident, officials told local media.
