The Florida woman was held all day while Carlos Gascon beat and tortured her.
He held a knife to her throat, cut her leg, burned her with hot coffee and broke a glass table when he threw her on it.
Deputies told WFOR-TV in Miami, Gascon "was angry at her because he had a dream she was cheating on him."
The woman told cops Gascon trapped her after he took her keys and cell phone, and threw them in a canal behind the house.
She finally got away when he passed out later in the evening.
Gascon is in jail with bond of nearly $300,000 while waiting to face charges of aggravated assault, and false imprisonment.
