WHBQ shared Chauncy Black's story in 2016.
Over the weekend, deputies said, that same teen was arrested for a shooting that killed a man in Cordova, Tennessee.
We found out a home is owned by Black's trust fund and it's where the money from the GoFundMe was placed years ago.
Deputies said Black and his brother, Timothy Black, were firing shots at people inside a car but shot their neighbor instead.
“I so appreciate it so much, that I can’t appreciate it no more,” Chauncy Black said in a previous interview.
In 2016, WHBQ introduced you to the teen was a young man who offered to carry groceries in exchange for food at Kroger.
Matt White decided to help him when he found out Black and his family were living in a poor area.
“Just felt this overwhelming humility for his situation,” White said.
White put together a GoFundMe, which raised more than $300,000 for the Black family.
People began to reach out, giving donations and offering the teen jobs.
The family ended up buying a new house.
"I thank God for it and all the people that helped us accomplish our goals," Chauncy Black said.
