The team manager for an Iowa high school basketball team made a huge impact in his only appearance on the court.

On Senior Night at Pella Christian High School, Devin Haveman drained a 3-point shot to honor his mother, a librarian and tech coordinator at the school, who is battling cancer, KCCI reported.

Haveman, a senior, started for Pella Christian's football, baseball and bowling teams but has been the basketball manager this season, KNIA/KRLS Radio reported.

In the closing seconds of Tuesday’s game against Newton High School, Pella Christian coach Larry Hessing sent Haveman into the game. The senior took an inbounds pass, dribbled to the right corner and put up a 3-pointer that hit nothing but net.

The video of Haveman's shot -- including the reaction by the fans -- was posted to YouTube.

The school was honoring Haveman's mother, Sheri Haveman, who had been a teacher at the school since 2003, KNIA/KRLS reported.
