Mom turns up heat with thermostat note for kids

Autumn Brandon’s only regret about a note she wrote delineating rules for use of the thermostat was that it was not properly spelled.

The Michigan mother shared an image of the note she taped to the thermostat after temperatures started to dip into the 30s at night.

The note read as follows:

“Unless you answer YES to all of these, DO NOT TURN ON HEAT.

"Are you wearing a hoodie, pants, socks? Is it November? Do you pay the gas bill?"

Brandon wrote the note to help her three children learn about energy conservation and frugality, according to WXIN.

She never anticipated it would be seen by thousands of people.

“It’s funny, because when my sons found out the post went viral, they just said, ‘Mom, that’s just 33,000 people that now know how much you nag us,'” Brandon told WXIN.
