A mother, grandmother and grandfather in Alabama are facing charges after law enforcement officials said they kept children locked in wooden cages.

On Monday, investigators, looking into reports of possible child abuse, went to the Lee County, Alabama, home in which the three adults lived with five children, ages 11, 10, 4, 3 and 8 months, The Associated Press reported.

Officials said they found two wooden cages with locks on them and learned the children had been locked in the cages multiple times, the AP reported.

Pamela Deloris Bond, James H. Bond and Kylla Michelle Mann were arrested, ABC News reported.

All three adults are facing two counts of aggravated abuse of a child less than 6 years of age and two counts of reckless endangerment. Pamela Bond also faces a count of tampering with physical evidence.

All five children are in the custody of the Alabama Department of Human Resources, the AP reported.
