A news crew with KPRC in Houston spotted the dog from a distance. The dog was tied up and the water had risen past its neck.

The news crew and a group of volunteers they were with untethered the dog and loaded it into their boat, transporting it to safety.

The dog was turned over to the Houston Humane Society. Rescuers said she will be fed, vaccinated and put up for adoption.
