Nintendo goes retro with NES Classic Edition

Do you remember the 1980s, when you were glued to your television set playing video games like Super Mario Bros., Donkey Kong, Galaga and Pac-Man?

If you do, then Nintendo is tapping into some nostalgia for you.

Its newest product is called NES Classic Edition, and it's a compact, hand-held version of the system, which debuted in 1985. It sells for $59.99 and plugs into a television set through an HDMI cable. There is also one classic controller included; additional controllers cost $10 apiece.

There are 30 pre-installed games included in the NES Classic Edition. There are several versions of Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda, Balloon Fight, Kirby’s Adventure and more.

Nintendo is also giving customers a chance to adapt the look of the screen. A player can view the games in modern, high-tech form or revert to a retro look.
