An Ohio police officer’s act of kindness helped a family in need, as he made sure two children would be able to ride safely in their family’s car.

During a recent traffic stop, Hilliard Officer Hunter Schweickart observed three children in the automobile, WCMH reported. One was an 8-month-old child who was properly restrained in a car seat. However, a 2- and 3-year-old were not in car seats.

According to the Hilliard Division of Police's Facebook page, Schweickart then went to a nearby store and bought the family two additional car seats, paying the bill with his own money. He then tracked down the family and gave them the car seats, WCMH reported.

“Our agency is proud to have officers with big hearts who go above and beyond for the community they serve,” the police department’s Facebook post ends.
