Emergency crews took the 16-year-old to a nearby hospital, where he later died, police said. Authorities have not publicly identified the boy, who "does not live at the residence," police said.
One of the pit bulls was shot and later euthanized, the AP reported. The remaining two dogs are now at the Irving Animal Shelter, authorities said.
A dog bit one of the responding officers, who has been treated, police said.
