Police say before a Lake Worth Florida, man rammed his van into two black people attempting to save a parking space for their family, he wanted to make his point very clear to them:
“(Expletive) you (slurs), don’t you see what’s on the front of my truck?” Donald Lee Hicks said, referring to the Confederate flag on his van, according to a city police report.
Police say on Saturday morning Hicks, 38, was looking for a parking space on Dania Beach. He thought he found a space, buta 41-year-old black man and a 67-year-old black woman were standing in the parking space and explained they were saving it for their family, Dania Beach police said.
The two individuals in the parking space told police that Hicks became upset, yelled expletives and a slur then rammed them with the van. Both sought medical attention for their injured knees, according to the report.
Hicks has an arrest record for violent crimes in both Palm Beach and Broward counties, including battery on a firefighter, hitting a police dog and battery.
