A man admitted he stole an ambulance and drove to a Dayton, Ohio, hospital after he said he was held inside a dog cage and tortured for several days, according to police.
Another man, Christopher Edwards, 38, of Warren County, has been arrested and is facing preliminary charges of felonious assault and kidnapping, Clearcreek Township police said in an updated media release Monday afternoon.
Police launched an investigation after the victim, a 22-year-old man from Cincinnati, was found at Dayton Children's Hospital Saturday. He was initially considered a suspect because the ambulance was recovered at the hospital.
"Upon speaking with (the victim), he alleged that he had been held against his will at a residence," police said in the media release, according to WHIO.
“(The victim) went on to allege that he had been tortured at that residence for several days, and admitted that he had taken the medic unit to aid in his escape," police said.
Following a search warrant at the house police mentioned, Edwards was arrested and charged with kidnapping and felonious assault and was booked in the Warren County Jail.
