Pregnant woman fatally shot in face, officials say

Reynolds, 34, was taken to a hospital, where she died. The unborn child died, as well.

The medical examiner will determine the cause of death for Reynolds and the child.

Thomas Christopher McDowell, 35, was arrested and charged with aggravated malicious wounding, use of a firearm during the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, WGHP reported.

Additional charges of second-degree murder and use of a firearm during the commission of murder were added after Reynolds died.

McDowell is being held in jail without bond.

The nature of McDowell’s relationship with Reynolds is unclear.
