Southwest Airlines experiencing delays caused by technical issues

Southwest Airlines is dealing with a technical issue that has prevented passengers from checking in to their flights and has led to a ground stop at some airports.

The company issued a statement saying intermittent performance issues started earlier this afternoon with multiple technology systems as a result of an outage.

“We are now managing flight delays across our system, with a temporary ground stop in place for those flights that have not left the gate,” the statement said in part.

Southwest Airlines apologized to its customers and said a team of experts are working to fix the technical issues.

Updates will be posted on the company website at swamedia.com and on company social media accounts.
