It was described as a “Gordian Knot,” according to the Facebook photos posted by the Humane Society.
Doctors had to anesthetize the squirrels to get them apart since they were "unruly" and "nippy" because they were scared, KMSP reported.
Each squirrel had some tissue damage to its tail, but they’re being watched by the staff at the rehabilitation center for any necrosis from lack of blood flow.
