A two-year project finally coming to fruition, the coffee chain is expected to open its 43,000 square-foot, four story roastery flagship Nov. 15, according to the Chicago Tribune. It's taking the place of the former Crate & Barrel at the corner of Erie Street and North Michigan Avenue on the Magnificent Mile.
Many of the details are being saved for the grand opening, but customers can expect interactive tours, exclusive drinks, a full kitchen with desserts, breads, pizzas and salads and on-site roasting of the coffee beans, the Tribune reported.
About 200 people will work at the roastery, a concept the company has been expanding in recent years.
Chicago will be the sixth location that roasts in-house, following New York(2018), Tokyo(2018), Shanghai(2017), Milan (2018) and Seattle (2014).
