“Enjoy Miami,” said Rice, who enjoyed his visit to the Magic City in 1989 when he was named MVP of Super Bowl XXIII.
"So cool to step off our plane at #SBLIV and meet Jerry Rice," tweeted Chris Hibbs, who filmed the encounter.
Rice, who was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame, won three Super Bowls as a member of the 49ers.
Rice's coach, Bill Walsh, famously dressed up as a bellhop outside the 49ers' team hotel on the eve of Super Bowl XVI in 1982. Walsh paid the bellhop $20 and began handling the players' luggage. Quarterback Joe Montana, barely looking up, told the silver-haired bellhop to get lost, but Walsh was finally recognized by defensive tackle Lawrence Pillars.
