Colleen Loughman, 43, was in the driver’s seat of an SUV stopped in an Interstate 95 emergency lane Saturday night in Fort Lauderdale when the trooper found the vehicle missing its right front tire and with a severely damaged rim, according to an FHP report.
After asking if Loughman was OK, the trooper said her breath smelled of alcohol and her speech was slurred, and he noticed her front zipper was down. The FHP report also noted that her 2-year-old son was sleeping in his child seat in the back of the SUV, and that the inside of the car had paperwork, open food and yogurt scattered throughout.
After allegedly failing her sobriety test and standing while facing the patrol car to be arrested, Loughman at first smiles and waves at the dashcam. But as the trooper began to put handcuffs on her, she’s shown trying to squirm away and within seconds yells, “I’m going to call CNN!” and also pleads, “Please! Please! I’m a teacher. I can’t get arrested.” It was not immediately clear where Loughman teaches.
The FHP report also said Loughman admitted to drinking two beers and taking three Xanax pills and a Zoloft pill before driving. Both drugs are used to treat anxiety.
Loughman was released from jail Monday after posting bail, according to WPLG-TV.
