Noah Kaleb Jones, 23, of the 600 block of Eaton Avenue, is charged with two counts of felonious assault and discharge of a firearm into a habitation. He was arraigned this morning in Hamilton Municipal Court, where Judge Dan Gattermeyer set bond.
The shots allegedly fired by Jones hit 22-month-old Adison Mitchell in the jaw and Kayla Rader, 9, in the right leg, according to court documents. Jones is scheduled to be back in court Dec. 6 for a preliminary hearing.
Police Chief Craig Bucheit announced Jones’ arrest Tuesday night on social media.
He said “an exhaustive investigation” by Hamilton police ended in a SWAT search warrant and arrest around 4 p.m. in the 600 block of Eaton Avenue in Hamilton.
Police were called shortly after 9:30 p.m. Nov. 21 to a report of a child shot inside the home.
When they arrived, the 2-year-old gunshot victim was being driven by her mother to Cincinnati Children’s Liberty Campus in Liberty Twp. From there, the child was transferred to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati.
A hospital employee said Tuesday night the child had been discharged, but that it wasn’t clear when.
According to neighbors, a man drove by the house twice and shot multiple times.
