New furniture store coming to the Dayton Mall

Kirkland’s, a furniture and home-goods chain, has submitted plans for a new store in the Dayton Mall, the mall’s general manager, Dave Duebber, said this morning.

Kirkland’s intends to move into the space vacated in April by Orvis, an outdoor clothing and fishing store that operated in the Dayton Mall for about nine years.

The new furniture store will be about 8,760 square feet, and the company plans to open by the fall of this year, Duebber said. Messages left for a Kirkland’s spokesman were not immediately returned.

Tennessee-based Kirkland’s operates more than 320 stores in 35 states, including a store on Voice of America Drive in the West Chester area.
