New retail building will house World of Beer

A new retail building in the works for The Greene Town Center’s front porch will house the region’s first World of Beer craft beer bar, according to Steve Willshaw, The Greene’s general manager.

The proposed building, just over 10,000 square feet, will be located at the intersection of Indian Ripple Road and Greene Boulevard, at the main entrance of the mixed-use retail, office and residential center. Plans call for the building to hold three tenants.

The identity of the other two tenants has not been released. Other than confirming that the new building will house World of Beer, Willshaw said he had no other information he could share about the project “at this time.”

Plans submitted to the city of Beavercreek propose a building with a 4,301 square foot tenant space, 3,036 square foot tenant space and 2,675 tenant space, along with a 585 square foot patio.

Sandra Pereira, associate city planner for Beavercreek’s planning and zoning department, said her office is “still working on finalizing a few things before we issue final zoning permits,” so the plans may change slightly prior to construction.

World of Beer offers 50 craft beers on tap and more than 500 beers from around the world in bottle. Founded in 2007, the Tampa-based chain signed a lease to open its first Dayton-area location at The Greene, Olshan Properties, the commercial real estate development and management firm that owns The Greene, announced last week.

World of Beer operates two Columbus-area locations in the Brewery District and at the Easton Town Center, with a third scheduled to open soon on North High Street.
