New store in Monroe is unlike many others in this popular chain

Monroe is set to get a new Verizon store, one with a brand new fixture layout and concept for the popular nationwide telecommunication company.

“Our interior of Monroe will be the first of it’s kind for our Conway Communications Family of stores,” said Jamee Gifford, vice president of Conway Communications, which has 24 Wireless Zone stores in Ohio, Indiana and West Virginia. “It’s the Next Generation layout and fixtures for Verizon Wireless.”

Gifford said the new location at the Retail 63 shopping center at 1308 Ohio 63 in Monroe will be “a gorgeous store.”

“It’s more open and features less of a counter between our team and customers feel and more of a collaborative feeling,” Jamie Gifford said. “We don’t have any stores in our portfolio that look like this yet.”

The new Monroe location will hire as many as four people to begin with, he said.

The fully-operating Verizon Wireless store will offer the full catalog of Verizon products and services. Depending on construction, company officials are hoping for a soft opening sometime in May.

Gifford said Conway Communications is “very active” in the communities in which it has stores and is participating in an Autism Awareness Campaign that will see it donating profits and donations to Autism Speaks at the end of April.

The lease for the 1,400-square-foot location was negotiated by Joshua Rothstein, a retail specialist with Blue Ash-based OnSite Retail Group.
