Firefighters responded to what they call a “suspicious” fire early Saturday morning.
Crews were called to the former Ivy Lounge on North Main Street around 1:30 a.m.
They said it took some time to find the source of the smoke, but firefighters finally did and put it out.
District Fire Chief Peter Whitby called for some back-up fire crews.
“We had to stage a couple extra companies because of the time it took to get the fire, he said. “(It) is common when we have a large commercial structure like this.”
The lounge has been vacant for years, and that’s why investigators believe the fire is suspicious.
