When Middletown police arrived at 3:11 p.m. Feb. 27, they found two men standing outside a car near several businesses. One of the men had a laceration to his left forearm that was 6 inches long and 3 inches wide, the report read.

A police officer applied a tourniquet to the man’s forearm in an attempt to stop the bleeding. Middletown paramedics arrived and treated the man.

The two men told police they were attempting to sell items in area businesses. They said Simpson was making “racial slurs” and “getting aggressive” with them, the report read.

They believe the attack was “racially motivated,” according to the report. The report does not note the race of the alleged victim.

Simpson was at Voodoo Tattoo, 4307 Roosevelt Blvd., when police responded. There was a blood trail between the tattoo business and the Phoenix Bar.

The knife allegedly used in the attack was found in a cabinet in Voodoo Tattoo. Above the tattooing station, police said there was a black Nazi SS battle helmet, one side with the SS logo, the other side with a swastika logo, according to the report.

Simpson walked out of Voodoo Tattoo, held his arms in the air and surrendered, according to a police report.

He is scheduled to have his preliminary hearing Friday in Middletown Municipal Court, according to court documents.
