Police: Man injured in Hamilton crash was driving stolen car

A man was seriously injured Wednesday morning in Hamilton while apparently driving a stolen car from a neighboring county, according to Hamilton police.

It took 90 minutes to extricate the man from the Buick sedan after it crashed into a pole at about 6:10 a.m. at South Erie Boulevard and Long Street, according to Sgt. Brian Robinson.

The driver, who was flown by medical helicopter to University of Cincinnati Hospital Medical Center, had no identification, according to Robinson.

The car had been reported stolen from Springfield Twp. in Hamilton County at about 5 a.m., he said.

The car hit a pole in the southbound lanes after going left of center on South Erie. The debris from the crash damaged vehicles parked in the D&D Auto Sales car lot, Robinson said.
