4,886 DP&L customers without power Saturday afternoon

A total of 4,886 DP&L customers were without power, the DP&L map showed this afternoon. The outage was reported around 4:15 p.m. this afternoon.

Mary Ann Kabel, a spokeswoman for DP&L said the outage was caused by a safety measure. An unknown issue triggered a system that shut down power, Kabel said. The outage affected approximately three Kettering neighborhoods and crews are already on the scene working to restore power.

Crews have already restored power for around 1,200 customers and Kabel said the rest of the customers should have power within the hour.
