Ribbon-cutting Thursday for shared commercial kitchen that may change the way you eat someday

City officials are poised to unveil their new kitchen incubator and co-working space in downtown Fairborn.

A ribbon-cutting and open house for "SPARK Fairborn" are scheduled for 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27 at 305 W. Main St. City officials tout the space as the region's first co-share commercial kitchen that also includes space for collaborators who are not involved with food preparation.

The kitchen incubator is designed to provide entrepreneurs with access to a certified commercial kitchen and its equipment, to help them develop and launch food-related enterprises.

Fairborn is partnering with Kitchen Incubator Collective in Newport, Kentucky to manage SPARK Fairborn’s shared kitchens, according to Tonia Fish, revitalization strategist for the city of Fairborn.
