Let the 2016 rumors begin: Sen. Portman heading to New Hampshire

Sen. Rob Portman, R-Ohio, who has been considering a bid for the presidency in 2016, will speak on Aug. 26 at the New Hampshire Institute of Politics at Saint Anselm College in New Hampshire at what organizers are calling an eggs and politics breakfast.

Portman, who just spent the past two weeks in Ohio, also will appear that same day at a campaign event for Republican Scott Brown, who is

challenging Sen. Jean Shaheen, D-N.H.New Hampshire in 2016 will hold the second presidential contest.

In addition, Portman is scheduled to be in Colorado this weekend campaigning for Republican Cory Gardner, who is trying to defeat Sen. Mark Udall, D-Col. Portman also is scheduled to campaign in Montana on behalf of Republican Senate candidate Steve Daines.Portman is the chief fund-raiser for the National Republican Senatorial Committee.
