Suspect named in attempted abduction of Dayton woman

UPDATE @ 4:09 p.m.

Dayton police have identified a suspect in this incident. 

Detectives are looking for Raymond Bush, Jr., who was last seen driving a red 2003 Chrysler Town and Country minivan, Ohio plate, HAH5139.

Bush is a 43-year-old black male, with black hair, brown eyes, weighing 225 pounds and standing 5 feet, 11 inches, according to Dayton police.

According to the victim and witnesses, the male suspect walked up on the porch and grabbed the victim and tried to force her to leave with him. The suspect and victim do not know each other, police say.

If anyone knows the whereabouts of either Bush and/or the red minivan, call Dayton police at 937-333-COPS.

Dayton police are investigating an attempted assault on Huffman Avenue. 

Around 10 a.m. Monday, Dayton police detectives were out in the 800 block of Huffman Avenue collecting evidence. 

A frantic 911 call from the victims indicate an unknown male ran onto the porch of a downstairs apartment and tried to abduct a woman and gain entry into the home.

“He tried to kidnap my mom off the front porch; yes I did poke him with a knife and he did take my knife,” the 911 caller said.

The male is described as wearing a yellow jacket and black shorts. He fled in a red van, down Huffman Avenue toward downtown Dayton. 

“I heard my mom screaming and I ran out of the house and I did grab my knife,” the 911 caller said, adding it was a pocket knife.
