Teen arrives at hospital with gunshot wound

Dayton police are investigating after a teen arrived at the hospital with a gunshot wound to his lower torso, according to a report.

The 18-year-old male told officers someone fired four shots at him while he was driving a rented black pickup truck on Home Avenue.

Police are now investigating whether that truck is connected to a separate drive-by shooting in Harrison Twp.

The teen told officers he went home after he was shot, and his mother drove him to the hospital, the Dayton report states. He was treated and released.

Officers had been called out to Home Avenue after neighbors heard those gunshots and saw about 60 people in the street, according to the report.

No one has been arrested.

Dayton police said they found the black pickup later, and towed it as evidence.

A black pickup truck was reportedly seen leaving the scene of the drive-by shooting in Harrison Twp., according to a Montgomery County Sheriff's report.
