The teen was arraigned June 28 in Shelby County Juvenile Court on charges of of being delinquent by way of aggravated vehicular assault, a second-degree felony; failure to comply with order of police, a third-degree felony; and receiving stolen property, a fifth-degree felony.

He entered a plea of denial to the charges, which is the equivalent of a not guilty plea in adult court. A pre-trial hearing is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Wednesday. The teen is being held in the West Central Juvenile Detention Center in Troy on a charge of allegedly violating a court order.

According to the complaint filed by the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the teen was driving a 2004 Toyota Camry that was reported as a stolen car from Sidney. While driving on Interstate 75 south, he was clocked going 98 mph in a 65 mph zone near mile marker 38 in Franklin Twp. After the car pulled over near mile marker 36, it sped off as the trooper approached the car and a high-speed chase ensued.
The teen was allegedly driving at speeds of more than 100 mph before crashing into a 2013 Chevrolet Equinox at Central Avenue and Bellemonte Street, causing injuries to himself and those in the other car. The teen and driver of the Equinox were taken to Atrium Medical Center in Middletown, where they were admitted. The passenger in the Equinox was treated and released.
