Today’s temperature dipped near record low, and Sunday could tie one

The official low temperature this morning at the Dayton International Airport was a chilly 21, just three degrees above the all-time Nov. 10 low of 18 set in 1991.

That day in 1991 was the fourth consecutive day of record lows which dropped the mercury as low as 11 degrees on Nov. 8.

While it won’t be that cold on Sunday, the Storm Center 7 forecast of 20 degrees would match the all-time Veterans Day low set in 1980.

At the other end of the spectrum for Nov. 10 temperature records was the high of 71 set in 2006. The Nov. 11 all-time high was 75 degrees, set in 1902.
