RTA expanding route to serve new P&G facility

The Greater Dayton Regional Transit Authority is adding a service stop to its Vandalia-Airport bus route to get workers to the new Procter & Gamble distribution center.

The expansion of Route 43 service will transport P&G employees to the new distribution facility on Union Airpark Road.

The expanded service begins Feb. 1, and will operate seven days a week, RTA said. P&G officials project an initial workforce of 650 employees.

Route 43 also travels to the Northwest Hub, the Westown Hub, along Ohio 49, Interstate 75, and the Vandalia Recreation Center.

RTA Director of Marketing and Planning Frank Ecklar said the expanded route was made based on input from P&G officials, staffing agencies and other local officials.

“The P&G facility is just one of many important projects here in the region,” Ecklar said. “We will continue to respond to the needs of our employers, wherever possible.”
