A 19-year-old Troy male arrested once by police on drug charges and then picked up for questioning in a half-dozen thefts in Troy on Friday, told police he might be responsible for as many as 200 thefts from vehicles in the past five months.
"He has told us he has possibly broken into as many as 200 vehicles in the surrounding area of Troy and possibly some burglaries and has entered garages within the area," Troy police Capt. Joe Long said.
Police identify him as Michael Wells. He has been charged with one count of theft so far as police begin to check their records dating back to March.
Monday night, Wells remained free on his own recognizance following a morning arraignment on two drug charges in Miami County Municipal Court.
