Unofficial results: Dean, Smith win Xenia City Council race

UPDATE @ 10:55 p.m.

One of six challengers and the incumbent were elected by Xenia voters to fill two vacant city council seats.

Levi P. Dean and Wesley Smith won the election, according to final, unofficial results from the Greene County Board of Elections.

Levi P. Dean: 33 percent

Wesley Smith: 21 percent

Councilman Wesley Smith is seeking reelection. His challengers are Dennis R. Propes, Phillip R. Shaw, Billie Carrico, Edward A. Council III, Levi P. Dean and Eric VA Winston.

Councilwoman Sarah Mays is running unopposed for the mayorship, as Mayor Marsha Bayless chose not to run for reelection. Early next year, Mays’ vacated council seat will be filled by majority vote.
