Warren County jail to be demolished, possibly preserved

Warren County is planning to demolish sections of the old jail complex on Silver St. in downtown Lebanon.

On Tuesday, commissioners discussed possibly preserving the sheriff’s office and living section, which date back to 1890. They’re expected to pursue keeping the oldest sections of the building on Silver St.

Warren County is expected to spend around $160,000 on the renovations to the building and designating a historic building.

The old county jail was decommissioned in 2013, but was used up until 1975.
