Woman arrested for giving drunk teen an IV

Girl passed out from heavy alcohol intake

Police say Jennifer Phippen broke the law when she gave alcohol to teenagers during a party at her home.

But she went a step further when one of the kids drank too much and passed out.

Instead of calling for medical assistance, cops in Ada County, Idaho, say she placed an IV in the 14-year-old girl.

The Idaho Statesman reports other kids told Phippen the girl had thrown up and then passed out.

That’s when she inserted the IV and gave teen 400-500 ccs of fluid rather than calling for help, or notifying her parents.

It’s also alleged Phippen tried to wake the girl up by putting her in the shower.

KTVB reports the girl later woke up and walked home on her own.

Phippen told police she had experience because she had worked as a nurse.

Phippen was arrested on two counts of felony injury to a child. She’s being held on $300,000 bond.
