West Carrollton group cancels annual Buttercream Festival

This year’s Buttercream Festival in West Carrollton has been cancelled.

Announcements on the event’s Facebook page and the page of the West Carrollton Merchants Association, which has organized the annual event, indicated the festival planned for Sept. 16 will not occur.

“The 2017 Buttercream Festival has been cancelled,” according to the merchants association site. “Please check back for further information on future festivals hosted by the West Carrollton Merchants Association.”

Attempts to reach organizers were unsuccessful.

The festival had been hosted by the elé Cake Company on East Dixie Drive. In 2014, it moved to 5655 Marina Dr. on land owned by the city.

The festival included food, games, rides, live music, Miss Buttercream Pageant, a 5K run and arts and crafts.
