West Chester ‘in a very select group’ with latest audit

For a fifth consecutive year, West Chester Twp. received the Ohio Auditor of State Award with Distinction.

Ryan Holiday, southwest regional liaison for Ohio Auditor of State Dave Yost, presented the award for the 2016 audit year at the trustees’ meeting Tuesday.

“It is important to note that this award puts West Chester Twp. in a very select group,” Holiday said. “Fewer than five percent of all entities that are audited annually earn and are eligible for this award.”

To be eligible for the award, entities must meet specific criteria upon filing a timely and accurate Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) with the State’s office. The report cannot contain any findings for recovery, material citations, material weaknesses, significant deficiencies, single audit findings or questioned costs.

“This award represents the hard work of every township employee who strives each day to achieve accounting excellence. Also, I want to recognize all the township officials that have done an excellent job accounting for every dollar in their offices and departments,” Holiday said.
