UPDATE AT 3:46 p.m.:
West Chester Fire Chief Rick Prinz said the fire at the Wetherington Country Club’ clubhouse is out and there were no injuries to occupants or to firefighters.
He said the cause of the fire and the amount of damages are yet to be determined.
When firefighters were called, they were told the fire was in the attic. When they arrived, they determined the fire was on the exterior of the clubhouse and had climbed up one of the wooden columns that leads to a balcony.
Those inside the clubhouse were evacuated, he said.
Firefighters from two departments are responding to a fire at Wetherington Country Club, 7337 Country Club Lane.
The West Chester Fire Department received a call at 2:15 p.m. today that fire was showing in the basement of the structure, said Drew Reeder, public relations coordinator for West Chester Twp.
He said the building was evacuated and there were no injuries.
Liberty Twp. firefighters also are on scene, he said.
