MORE: ‘I have some plans for the future’: Middletown police chief discusses decision to retire
“That’s something that I always wanted to do,” Muterspaw said.
Earlier, he said he’s planning to enter the private sector and that his next job will not be law enforcement-related or be as a police chief elsewhere. He also isn’t interested in entering the political arena, he said.
Muterspaw, 50, said he knew it was time to retire after he lost his “passion” for the profession.
“It was time to go,” he said. “I’m worn out.”
